Anita F. Hill,
Professor of Law, Social Policy, and Women’s Studies at Brandeis University

Since 1998 Hill has taught law and policy to graduate and undergraduate students at Brandeis.Before joining the Brandeis faculty, she was a tenured member of the faculty at the University of Oklahoma, College of Law. There she taught contracts and commercial law and authored scholarly articles on international commercial law and bankruptcy. Hill's career includes public service. She served as an advisor to the Assistant Secretary of the U. S. Education Department and the Chairman of the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission. In 1980, when she received her J.D. from Yale Law School, Hill began her career in private practice in Washington, D.C. with a focus was on banking law and litigation. In connection with her teaching and research, Hill has made hundreds of presentations to corporate, professional, academic and civic organizations throughout the United States as well as in Canada, South Africa, Italy, Ireland, New Zealand and Japan. Hill has a proven ability to express complex legal and social issues in ways the public easily grasps and that encourage creative, equitable and positive resolution. Professor Hill is the recipient of numerous awards and honorary degrees. Her civic contributions include memberships on the Board of Governors of the Tufts-New England Medical Center and the Boards of Directors of the National Women's Law Center and the Boston Area Lawyers' Committee for Civil Rights. In addition, as a consultant to AARP, Hill advises on finance, health and lifestyle issues facing the baby boomer generation. (from DirectWoman)

Sam Yoon,
Boston City Councilor At-Large

Boston City Councilor At-Large Sam Yoon--who represents all 9 districts in the city of Boston--became the first Asian-American elected to the City Council in 2005. He is Chair of the City Council Housing Committee and has also championed youth issues, transparency in government and community engagement. Prior to his election, Sam served as Development Director for the Asian Community Development Corporation (ACDC) and worked to create affordable housing and economic development in Boston's Chinatown. Sam has also worked for Boston Aging Concerns, an organization focused on housing for families where grandparents are the primary care givers, as well as The Community Builders, the nation's largest non-profit developer of affordable housing. A graduate of Princeton and Harvard’s Kennedy School of Government, Sam has gained experience as a public school teacher and community organizer. He lives in Fields Corner with his wife, Tina, and their two children, Nathan and Naomi.
